Last Saturday, Rene and I drove all the way to Clark, Pampanga to watch the “Hot Air Balloon Fiesta” - an annual tournament of balloonists from various countries held in Clarkfield during the month of February. We, together with some friends were suppose to stay at Helen’s “mansion na dampa” in Angeles City the night before the event but Ren’s work got on the way. So instead of leaving Dasma at 10pm, we decided to stay until 3am for hubs to take a rest.
We arrived in Clarkfield at 5:30am, just on time for the balloon flight event, which was scheduled at 5:30 to 7:00 am. But as expected, the show started an hour later. Well, at least we had time to have breakfast and to find a good spot to capture these beautiful balloons…

With Clemz, Helen and Mark…

Two amateurs trying to look like professionals…

Love at first sight!

Where did my parents go again?
After the hot air balloon show, Ren and I met up with a very very dear friend, Karen who patiently waited for us while we were trying to figure out our way out the Clarkfield zone. You see, we went to the wrong direction twice! So are some cars who followed us. The organizers must have at least put signs/ directions in the area so first time goers, like us, would not get lost.
We then went to “The Lakeshore”, a 253 hectares of farmland in Mexico, Pampanga, converted into an industrial, commercial, residential and recreational complex. I learned about the place through Tin’s site. We’re in Pampanga anyway, so it would be a waste not to include it in our itenerary.

The Lighthouse Grill

A nice talk with Karen…
